Pilots,
Sorry to release yet another version of SPAACARs, but this is needed for pilots using MSFS2024. This corrects an error message that occurs when the destination airport is not located in the database we use to obtain lat/lon data for our Active Flight Map on the main webpage.
Version 10.20 replaces the error with a message that the airport was not found and displays the ICAO of the missing airport. It also states that this may affect the Active Flight Display Map. The user can close this message and continue to use SPAACARS with the understanding that their destination airport will not be displaying on the Active Flight Map on the main webpage, and the related information there will also not be accurate.
Additional Information:
Our local airports table on the server will be checked in a final attempt to set the destination airport lat/lon. If that fails, the destination airport will not display on the Active Flight Map. Hub Managers and Webmaster can add missing airports to our local airport table through VAHQ. This will allow future flights to that airport to appear correctly on our Active Flight Map, but it will still display the "Airport Not Found" error message on flight plan loading unless the online database is updated by the 3rd party provider of that website.
Pilots using other simulators are not affected by this error because lat/lon data is included in the simulator's imported flight plan. Those pilots using FSX/P3D, MSFS2020 and other simulators other than FlightGear can also install this latest version, as it should be compatible with them just as earlier versions have been.
FlightGear version of SPAACARS has not changed.
Again, sorry for this inconvenience.
